Peter is a Chartered Arbitrator and on the panels of arbitrators of the major arbitration institutions in a number of countries. He is appointed regularly as an arbitrator (sole, presiding, co-arbitrator, emergency arbitrator) in a wide range of disputes, including those arising from sale and purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, joint ventures, share purchase agreements, private equity investments, asset transfer agreements, commodity and shipping contracts, technology, telecommunication, renewal energy, construction and engineering projects.

Peter has been recognised as a “Global Leader” in Arbitration by Who’s Who Legal, a “litigation star” by Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific and as a world-leading practitioner by Euromoney Guide to the World's Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration. He was shortlisted for “Arbitration Practitioner of the Year” at the Asialaw Asia Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards. He was on the “A-List” of the China Business Law Journal and has been recognised by Chambers Asia-Pacific and by The Legal 500 in the field of international arbitration and construction.

Peter graduated with LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore in 1989. He is admitted in England & Wales, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, and the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.

Peter has served as chair of the IPBA Energy & Resources Committee, a vice-chair of the IPBA International Construction Projects Committee, and a council member of IPBA. He is also a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and was a member of the ICC Arbitrator Nomination Commission. He was also vice-president of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators.

Peter has given guest lectures on arbitration at Australian National University, Peking University School of Transnational Law, and Yonsei University. Peter serves on the Editorial Board for LexisNexis online Practical Guidance (Arbitration). He is a contributing author of several authoritative textbooks on arbitration and litigation, including Arbitration in Hong Kong – A Practical Guide, The Hong Kong Arbitration Ordinance: Commentary and Annotations and Commercial Litigation in Hong Kong, all published by Sweet & Maxwell.
